Steve Wilks had said he wasn't sure how long safety Tre Boston could be sidelined with his shoulder and ribs injuries, but the Cardinals made a move to provide some flexibility if Boston remains out.
According to the NFL's official transactions report Saturday, the Cards signed veteran safety Eddie Pleasant, waiving cornerback Deatrick Nichols to do so. Nichols was just promoted to the active roster Thursday from the practice squad.
Pleasant, in his seventh NFL season, spent the preseason with the New England Patriots, but was with the Houston Texans his first six years. He had 32 tackles, two sacks and an interception in 2017 playing 16 games for the Texans -- with his one pick coming against the Cardinals.
The Cardinals still have a practice squad spot open from Nichols' original move. He could be re-signed there should he clear waivers.
