The development of wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is on hold for now after the rookie banged his head following a play Sunday in Green Bay.
Coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday Harrison was in concussion protocol.
The last time the Cardinals had a pass catcher go into the protocol, tight end Trey McBride missed a game. The Cardinals do have an extra day before their next outing. They play the Chargers on "Monday Night Football" in a week at State Farm Stadium.
Regardless of Harrison's status, the Cardinals did officially put Zay Jones on the 53-man roster Monday, a week after his suspension ended. Jones did appear on the injury report late last week with a hamstring issue.
With the Monday game, the first injury report this week won't be until Thursday.
Harrison came off the field after he was targeted on a pass in the second quarter. The throw was incomplete, and as Harrison fell to the ground his head hit the thigh of a Packers defender. He only had one other target in the game, a pass on the first possession that never had a chance to be completed with Harrison and QB Kyler Murray in miscommunication. Murray took the blame for the mixup.
He is the second high-profile rookie receiver from the most recent draft class to deal with a concussion this early in his career. The Giants' Malik Nabers, who was off to a great start this season, has missed the last two games with a concussion and remains in the protocol.
On the season, Harrison has 17 catches for 279 yards and four touchdowns.
