Please describe your role(s) in your profession(s): As the CEO of Fair Trade Cafe, Stephanie oversees all aspects of the business ensuring the cafe's adherence to its core values of sustainability and fair trade practices. She plays a pivotal role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere for customers while also leading a team of dedicated team members.
In addition to her role at Fair Trade Cafe, Stephanie is the Founder and CEO of Empowering Latina Leaders in Arizona (E.L.L.A.), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering Latina women in business and leadership roles.
Please describe your pathway to your current profession(s): Stephanie Vasquez, an Arizona State University alumna, is a powerhouse Latina business leader, serial entrepreneur, and esteemed business coach. Her impressive journey includes founding the non-profit E.L.L.A., steering Fair Trade Cafe for sixteen prosperous years, and championing initiatives for the Phoenix community. She's garnered recognition from prestigious entities like Forbes, Los Suns, and more. Stephanie's impact extends to mentoring with ASU Prepped, nurturing the next wave of food entrepreneurs.
What is your education/training background? Stephanie is and Arizona State University alumna earned her degree in Education. After being a middle school science teacher for seven years she took a trip to Costa Rica and developed her love and deep appreciation for coffee. This then ignited her entrepreneurial journey beginning with Fair Trade Cafe.
Advice you'd give to your younger self: I would tell younger Stephanie to embrace boldness and authenticity. Trust your intuition; it will be your compass guiding you through every twist and turn on your journey.
Who has influenced you? My culture, the strength of the women I love, and the wisdom of my ancestors are constant sources of inspiration and guidance in my daily life.
