The Cardinals will have at least one change on their coaching staff for 2025, after Virginia Tech announced that Sam Siefkes -- who had been the linebackers coach for the Cardinals -- would be their defensive coordinator.
It's the first official change of Jonathan Gannon's staff since he arrived in 2023, although the Cardinals still have to name a replacement.
Siefkes had come from the Vikings to join Gannon's staff, although he had worked in college before that, moving to the NFL in 2021.
"Virginia Tech and Coach Pry are getting a remarkable leader in the coaching world," Gannon told the Virginia Tech website. "Sam is a fantastic communicator, teacher and has unbelievable knowledge on how to stop offenses. He is a great coach and even better person. He will bring competitive stamina and a ton of juice to Blacksburg."
Siefkes worked with inside linebackers with the Cardinals, including Kyzir White, Mack Wilson Sr., Krys Barnes and Owen Pappoe.
The Cardinals are also reportedly making a change at defensive line coach, moving on from Derrick LeBlanc.
