When the Cardinals are healthy on the offensive line, tackle is not a concern for 2025. Paris Johnson Jr. mans the left side, Jonah Williams mans the right.
But when we last left the Cardinals -- and their starting tackles -- neither was playing. Both had knee injuries to a level no one was exactly sure, with the team keeping specifics close to the vest. Johnson missed the last three games but the severity was never really known (he got hurt on a touchdown play and walked off the field never to return) but Williams went down a game later with what looked like a serious issue.
Whatever the details, GM Monti Ossenfort said at the NFL owners meetings during a one-on-one that optimism reigns for both.
"Paris and Jonah are both going through a good offseason," Ossenfort said. "We will see in the spring (how much they do), but we don't have any concerns. We are ready to roll with both those guys."
Johnson had been a play-almost-every-snap-since-he-was-drafted guy before he got hurt. For Williams, it was his second significant knee injury of the season and he ended up only playing six games; like a couple other free agents (DL Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols), Williams' track record -- he had missed only two games in three seasons before last year -- didn't translate in his first year in Arizona.
Offensive line figures to be a priority in the draft for the Cardinals, although they may look more at guard than tackle if one takes precedence. The Cardinals also brought back Kelvin Beachum and drafted Christian Jones last season. Short-term, the Johnson-Williams combo remains the leader in the clubhouse, and their health shouldn't be an impediment.
