Patrick Peterson has been a rock for the Cardinals at one cornerback, but the other side remains a revolving door, with more moving parts Tuesday.
The Cardinals released two cornerbacks they had recently signed – Dontae Johnson and Quinten Rollins – in order to promote a pair of cornerbacks to the active roster, with Deatrick Nichols and Chris Jones getting the call.
The team also cut linebacker Jonathan Anderson, who had been signed last week, and brought back cornerback Jonathan Moxey to the practice squad.
The Cards now have a single opening on both the active roster and practice squad.
This is the third time this season Nichols has been on the active roster. He has appeared in two games. Jones has been on the practice squad all but one week, when he was promoted and played.
David Amerson, who started at cornerback in Atlanta, is in concussion protocol. Brandon Williams is expected to get the start against the Rams Sunday if Amerson is not cleared.
