Budda Baker didn't have the big stats he might've wanted but he's said all along his season a year ago was still good (aside from missing five weeks with a bad hamstring injury). His peers agreed.
The NFL Network's annual Top 100 list for the 2023 season began its reveal on Monday night, and the Cardinals Pro Bowl safety was in the lineup for a fifth straight season, coming in at No. 89 overall. While the top 80 have yet to be revealed, there is a chance Baker will be the lone Cardinals representative (although it feels like Trey McBride and James Conner had arguments. Then again, it's partially why these things exist -- they generate debate.)
Baker's ranking on the list in previous years:
- 2022 - 73
- 2021 - 67
- 2020 - 19
- 2019 - 97
Baker, who is scheduled to be a free agent after the season, should be in a better position this year with the defensive upgrades the Cardinals have made. If the Cards have the kind of jump-up season many think is possible, Baker should have teammates on next year's list.
