Inevitably, there are going to be cap casualties from teams this time of year, right before free agency. (And to be clear, cap casualties can be translated to "This player might still help us, but isn't worth the money he is scheduled to make" rather than "We have to clear cap space.")
In the last couple of days, three high-profile veteran pass catchers have gotten or will get released: Jets wideout Davante Adams, Seahawks wideout Tyler Lockett, and Jaguars wideout Christian Kirk. It's notable from these corners because the Cardinals could be in the market for a veteran wideout to add to Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.
Kirk would intrigue me, because he and Kyler Murray were close and Kirk was a guy who was on the receiving end of a ton of deep passes from Kyler that the Cardinals hope to reintegrate into the offense. No idea if Kirk still has the same physical tools from when he left Arizona after the 2021 season; he's been injured a good chunk of time the past two seasons after a fantastic debut season with Jacksonville.
(Kirk is also younger than many of the vet receivers that are expected to be available, and there are a ton of them. DK Metcalf has also requested a trade. Lockett, meanwhile, has already been linked to the Raiders given that his former coach, Pete Carroll, is now there, and they need a vet.)
The Cardinals are going to have to add to the WR room given the free agents of their own. They could still look at the draft too. But they will have some choices if they want to sign a veteran, and that list is only growing.
