State Farm Stadium Earns Second Spot In USA Today Ranking

Cardinals' home field just behind new stadium in Minnesota

For years, whenever the NFLPA has done a poll with players about the best playing surface in the league, the Cardinals' home turf has either been the best or in the top three. When the team moved into State Farm Stadium, the rest of the facility matched up with the field itself.

So it's probably no surprise that in a ranking of NFL stadiums for the USA Today's Touchdown Wire, the Cardinals' home was listed as No. 2 in the league, just behind the Vikings' brand-new U.S. Bank Stadium. There isn't a lot of discussion with the ranking, only noting that the Cards got their own place after so many years at Sun Devil Stadium -- and now that the Cards have been in their building for going into a 16th season, that's somewhat old news. At the same time, it means something for a stadium (which continues to get upgrades all around the facility) to continue to have a good reputation after that many seasons of use.

Rounding out the top five of this list was Green Bay's Lambeau Field at No. 3, Seattle's Luman Field at No.4 and Dallas' AT&T Stadium at No. 5.
