The Cardinals have added a couple of veteran wide receivers to their offseason roster, both of whom just had their seasons end in the playoffs while on practice squads.
Quez Watkins, who was on the Steelers' practice squad when they lost to the Ravens on Saturday night, signed a "future" deal with the Cards on Thursday.
The Cardinals also inked Trishton Jackson to a similar contract. Jackson was on the Vikings' practice squad before Minnesota was eliminated in the playoffs Monday night at State Farm Stadium. The contracts will kick in when the new league year starts in mid-March.
Watkins spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles -- including two years while Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon was on the staff -- and collected 98 catches for 1,249 yards and six touchdowns over 49 games. He spent the entire 2024 season with Pittsburgh without appearing in a game.
Jackson, who has also spent time with the Rams, has played in nine career games, with two receptions.
The Cardinals have Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson and Xavier Weaver signed, but wide receivers Greg Dortch, Zay Jones and Zach Pascal all have expiring contracts. Andre Baccellia and Tejhaun Palmer, each of whom spent the entire season on the Cardinals' practice squad, also have signed "future" deals.
