CHICAGO -- It's not déjà vu. It's just roster management.
For a second time in two games. the Cardinals have promoted running back Tavien Feaster and long snapper Beau Brinkley to the active roster from the practice squad among a handful of moves Saturday ahead of their road game against the Bears.
The Cards also placed rookie safety James Wiggins on injured reserve after his knee didn't respond the way he had hoped.
For the Bears game, the Cardinals also used a standard practice squad elevation for both linebacker Joe Walker and cornerback Jace Whittaker , and elevated linebacker Tahir Whitehead as a Covid replacement for running back Jonathan Ward. Whittaker's presence likely takes into account the status of starting cornerback Byron Murphy, who suffered a foot injury in practice and is listed as questionable for the game.
Feaster and Brinkley were signed in the same manner before the Cardinals played the Seahawks, only to be released and re-signed to the practice squad following the game.
Regular long snapper Aaron Brewer, on IR with a broken arm, is eligible to come back next week against the Rams on "Monday Night Football." Once Ward comes off the Covid list, he'll take Feaster's spot.
