With two open roster spots, the Cardinals filled one on Monday when they were awarded their waiver claim on safety Jammie Robinson.
Robinson on Friday had been released by the Panthers -- who the Cardinals play in Carolina on Sunday
Robinson had been a fifth-round pick of the Panthers, with seven interceptions in college for South Carolina and Florida State. With the Panthers, he played in 21 games over two seasons but only had 75 defensive snaps. The bulk of his work came on special teams.
The Cardinals put running back Emari Demercado and punter Blake Gillikin on IR on Saturday. Robinson is added to a team with a lot of young defensive backs already, and that doesn't include rookie third-round pick Elijah Jones, who is on IR but has been designated to return.
As a 2023 draft pick, Robinson is under contract through 2026.
