The official word on the availability for veteran right tackle Kelvin Beachum won't come until Sunday, but the Cardinals covered their options on Saturday with their practice-squad elevations.

The team elevated both tackle Jackson Barton and tackle Charlie Heck for the game against the Lions, leaving a decent chance Beachum -- who hurt his hamstring in practice this week and did not practice on Friday -- will not be able to play.

Beachum was already the No. 2 right tackle, with starter Jonah Williams on Injured Reserve with a knee injury.

Delving into a third-string starter wouldn't be ideal in any situation, but having to do it against the Lions could be a problem. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson is coming off a 4.5-sack game against Tampa Bay, and he has done the majority of his work against backup tackles this season.

Barton would figure to get the start if Beachum is out, having been with the Cardinals the entire offseason. Heck was just signed after Williams was hurt, but he does have 21 starts at tackle in the NFL during his career.

Beachum played well in Williams' sted last week against the Rams, when the Cardinals had nearly 500 yards of offense. Beachum made his 150th career start in that game.

MACK WILSON FINED

Linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. was fined $11,255 for his taunting penalty called during the 41-10 win over the Rams last weekend. Wilson was flagged for getting in the face of a Los Angeles player after Dennis Gardeck's strip-sack, a fumble that was recovered by defensive lineman L.J. Collier.

Rams defensive end Desjuan Johnson was fined $5,191 for a hip-drop tackle of Cardinals running back Trey Benson in the fourth quarter. There was not a flag on the play. The NFL handed out four hip-drop fines this week.
