Starting with the Cardinals' 2016 preseason opener in August, fans will experience a completely enhanced and upgraded audio experience at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The new system will represent the most modern and state-of-the-art technology available and provide fans with an unparalleled level of sound crispness and audio clarity.
"There's no doubt that this will have a profound impact on the fan experience," team president Michael Bidwill said. "As much as the stadium's visual presentation was improved by the recently upgraded scoreboards, this project's impact on the audio presentation will be just as significant, if not more so."
Funded by the Cardinals, the replacement of the stadium's original audio system is currently underway. The equipment is being provided by manufacturer L-Acoustics while Pro Sound is handling the installation. Work will be completed by August.
The new design will feed sound to the entire stadium at once – from the top to bottom – thereby eliminating delays, echoes, and distortion.
The upcoming season will be the Cardinals' 11th at University of Phoenix Stadium, which opened in 2006. The team has sold out all 104 games it has played at the venue.
