What kind of role Chris Streveler might have beyond quarterback is still TBD. But the Cardinals are going to put him a heartbeat away at his natural position, making the CFL signee active Sunday in the season opener against the 49ers, and Brett Hundley inactive.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury had said late in camp the backup QB spot was still a competition, and for now, Streveler has posted the upset.
The other interesting decision -- rookie running back Eno Benjamin is inactive, but running back D.J. Foster, who was just elevated from the practice squad, is active.
The inactive list is a little smaller this season, since teams can have 48 guys active (instead of 46) as long as eight of them are offensive linemen. It's an allowance every single team figures to take advantage of every week.
