With two defensive linemen on the Covid list, the Cardinals are bringing back a familiar name.
The Cards signed defensive lineman Josh Mauro to the practice squad Tuesday for another stint. Mauro had briefly been with the team in training camp after a spate of injuries to the position, and he also was brought in as depth midway through the 2020 season.
Mauro played 47 games for the Cardinals from 2014-2017, before playing for the Raiders, Giants and Jaguars. He played three games for the Cards after his return in 2020.
The Cardinals currently are without Zach Allen and Corey Peters, both of whom are on the Covid list and potentially could miss a second game Sunday against the Texans. Rashard Lawrence also left the game in Cleveland with a calf injury that limited him to three snaps.
Jonathan Ledbetter played 10 snaps Sunday as a practice squad callup, and the Cards also have Jeremiah Ledbetter as another defensive line practice-squad option.
Jordan Phillips return to play Sunday, logging 21 snaps, and the Cards also have Leki Fotu, J.J. Watt and Michael Dogbe available.
