The Cardinals did get Rodney Hudson back off the Covid list, but lost two more players to the list for the time being, including linebacker Markus Golden.
Golden went on the list Monday, as well as reserve offensive lineman Sean Harlow.
Punter Andy Lee went on the list last week, although coach Kliff Kingsbury said the hope was Lee would test out of the protocols this week and play Sunday in Dallas.
NFL Network reported that 106 players were put on the Covid list Monday, and 96 players testing positive. With the new NFL protocols, players who have been vaccinated can come back, as long as they are asymptomatic, with a single negative test. That doesn't mean players are coming back sooner, however -- Hudson just missed two games.
The Center for Disease Control officially shortened the isolation period for vaccinated people from 10 days to five days -- if asymptomatic -- with five days of wearing a mask. It remains to be seen what the NFL and NFLPA decide to do, if anything, to work that into current league protocols.
According to NFL Research, 476 players have tested positive since Dec. 13.
If Golden, who has 11 sacks this season, can't play, the Cardinals still have Devon Kennard and Dennis Gardeck to play outside linebacker with Chandler Jones, along with Tahir Whitehead on the practice squad.
