With no Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins was going to get work. And the one-time undrafted college wide receiver-turned-tight end got that Sunday against the Commanders, playing a career-high 40 snaps of the Cardinals' 59 offensive plays. He finished with three targets and two catches, and the Cardinals missed McBride to help buoy the offense.
Travis Vokolek has 12 snaps at tight end in his first game of the year, while Tip Reiman had 25.
At running back, James Conner had his 104-yard rushing day with his 34 snaps, the first time this season he has been below 60 percent. Emari Demercado played 14 snaps, and Trey Benson got most of his 11 snaps late in the game.
Marvin Harrison Jr. led the wide receivers with 54 snaps, followed by 50 from Michael Wilson and 43 from Greg Dortch. Zach Pascal and Chris Moore each got six snaps. (Wide receiver Zay Jones is eligible to return from his suspension next week, after the 49ers game.)
On the defensive side of the ball, inside linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. played his highest percentage of snaps this season, going in for 61 (of 72 total) plays and that included a brief trip to the medical tent. Starting outside linebackers Zaven Collins and Dennis Gardeck, on the other hand, were both under 50 percent -- 34 and 33 snaps respectively.
This week's 100 percent club were safeties Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson and inside linebacker Kyzir White.
At cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting and Garrett Williams each had 67 snaps, with Starling Thomas V at 56 and Max Melton at 21. After Collins and Gardeck at OLB, it was Julian Okwara at 20 snaps and Xavier Thomas down to 7.
On the defensive line, Roy Lopez had a position-high 51 snaps, followed by L.J. Collier (42), Dante Stills (39), Bilal Nichols (39), and Angelo Blackson (24).
